Pop superstar Taylor Swift has officially bought back the rights to her entire early music catalog, ending a long dispute over ownership that began in 2019.
She shared the news with fans on her website, calling it her “greatest dream come true” after years of re-recording her first six albums to regain control.
Swift purchased her master’s from investment firm Shamrock Capital, following public battles with former manager Scooter Braun, who had acquired her previous label and masters.
Her move has sparked renewed conversations about artists’ rights in the music industry and inspired others to negotiate ownership of their work.
The success of her recent record-breaking “Eras” tour helped support the buyback, marking a significant milestone in her career and advocacy for artist control.
