Lani Cayetano welcomed Cadet Sharmaine Sumampong, a Taguig resident and Filipino exchange student at the United States Naval Academy (USNA) in Maryland, during a courtesy visit with her mother.
The mayor praised Sumampong as one of the city’s outstanding achievers for representing the Philippines in the prestigious military academy program.
Sumampong is a graduate of local schools in Taguig and the Philippine Military Academy before being selected for the USNA exchange program.
She is currently on a short leave but will continue her studies in the United States until May next year.
