STAR ATHLETE BROWNLEE OUT OF SEA GAMES

Justin Brownlee will miss the upcoming Bangkok SEA Games as Thai organizers banned naturalized players from competing in 5×5 basketball, though teammate Ange Kouame can play in 3×3 events.

This allows Brownlee to suit up for Meralco in the EASL, starting with their game against the Macau Black Bears on Dec. 6.

Brownlee has recovered from pneumonia in Los Angeles and is ready to play after missing Meralco’s first four EASL matches.

Meralco currently holds a 2-2 record in Group B, having rebounded from early losses with wins over Taoyuan and Macau.

The top teams from each group will advance to the playoffs in March, with the champion set to take home $1.5 million.
