‘SOVEREIGNTY HAS NO PRICE,’ NAVY AFFIRMS AMID COST CONCERNS

The Philippine Navy said it will continue regular patrols in the West Philippine Sea despite soaring fuel prices, stressing that protecting the country’s sovereignty remains a priority.

Navy spokesperson Roy Vincent Trinidad said operations will proceed while energy conservation measures are being implemented across the fleet.

The BRP Diego Silang is currently in Darwin, Australia, to participate in the International Fleet Review and Kakadu 2026 naval exercise until March 30.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Coast Guard plans to expand its fuel subsidy program to cover fishermen nationwide.

The Department of Foreign Affairs also rejected China’s claim regarding Bajo de Masinloc, insisting that maritime disputes must follow international legal processes.
