A House lawmaker urged senators to rely on official documents rather than verbal testimonies in the ongoing investigation of corruption in flood control projects.
Las Piñas Rep. Mark Anthony Santos criticized Senate President Vicente Sotto III for allegedly defending colleagues, saying such remarks could undermine the investigation’s integrity.
Santos emphasized that the investigation should proceed without political interference and that accountability must prevail, regardless of influence or political ties.
Meanwhile, Rep. Alfredo Benitez supported efforts to make Bacolod City a model for flood mitigation across the country, following the Bacolod Flood Mitigation Summit on October 20.
The summit, attended by multiple government agencies, aimed to foster collaboration in addressing flooding issues and sharing best practices nationwide.
