SHOW CAUSE ORDERS TO BE ISSUED TO ISKO MORENO, SAM VERZOSA FOR VOTE-BUYING ALLEGATIONS

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced on April 24 that it will issue show cause orders to mayoral candidates Isko Moreno Domagoso and Samuel Versoza Jr. for alleged vote-buying activities.

Domagoso is accused of distributing P3,000 to public school teachers in Manila, while Versoza allegedly gave out goods bearing his initials “SV.”

Additionally, seven other candidates, including Jerry Jose, Richard Kho, Levito Baligod, Marilou Baligod, Julian Coseteng, Anna Hernandez, and Dale Malapitan, are also under investigation for similar offenses.

Comelec’s Kontra Bigay committee is handling the case, and the accused candidates will be required to explain the allegations.

The commission has yet to provide Domagoso with the show cause order, while the others are expected to face scrutiny for their actions during the campaign period.
