Senator Bong Go has renewed his call for stronger fire prevention and disaster resilience measures after extending assistance to 50 families displaced by a recent fire in Barangay 145, Caloocan City.
In coordination with Mayor Along Malapitan, Go’s team provided financial aid and essential relief items while stressing that government response should go beyond immediate assistance to include preparedness, rapid response, and long-term recovery for affected communities.
He emphasized the importance of strengthening urban fire response, citing Republic Act 11589 or the Bureau of Fire Protection Modernization Act, which aims to upgrade equipment, personnel, and training within a decade.
Go also reiterated support for a proposed Rental Housing Subsidy Program to help families displaced by disasters secure temporary shelter.
He assured continued assistance to fire victims nationwide as part of broader disaster resilience efforts.
