Senator Sherwin Gatchalian condemned the recent stabbing of two Grade 8 students in Las Piñas, calling it “beyond alarming” and a sign of a growing crisis.
The two victims were fatally attacked by three Grade 9 students outside their school, marking the second such incident in the area in recent weeks.
Gatchalian emphasized that the rise of violence among students reflects a failure to instill discipline and respect in the youth.
He urged local governments to act quickly and implement programs like the Parent Effectiveness Service Program and the GMRC, and the Values Education Act.
Gatchalian also stressed the importance of bringing the perpetrators to justice to prevent further tragedies.
