The Department of Health (DOH) has placed all hospitals and health facilities nationwide on “Code White” alert as Filipinos begin observing Holy Week, a measure that will remain in effect until Easter Sunday.
This alert ensures that medical personnel, particularly in emergency rooms and critical care units, are prepared for potential health emergencies due to increased public activity.
Health Secretary Ted Herbosa emphasized the importance of health and safety during the Holy Week, advising the public to stay hydrated, protect themselves from heat stroke, and properly store food.
Additionally, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has directed local government units, the Philippine National Police, and the Bureau of Fire Protection to ensure a peaceful observance of the week, focusing on public safety, transportation, and emergency services.
Both agencies are working in coordination to provide a seamless and efficient response to emergencies across the country.
