House Speaker Martin Romualdez urged public officials to reflect and “serve with sincerity” this Holy Week, emphasizing the importance of returning to the core of their calling.
In his Palm Sunday statement, Romualdez invited Filipinos to contemplate the life, suffering, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, drawing parallels between Christ’s journey and the struggles of the Filipino people.
He highlighted that true strength comes from sacrifice, healing from forgiveness, and hope through faith.
Romualdez also emphasized that Holy Week serves as a time for public servants to lead with empathy and be mindful of the burdens carried by others.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. echoed similar sentiments, urging the nation to remain resilient and optimistic in the face of challenges.
