Vice President Sara Duterte defended herself against claims of being a “bratinella” or spoiled brat following criticism over her behavior during a budget briefing.
In a September 4 interview, Duterte asserted that she is accustomed to answering questions and has demonstrated her responsiveness since her time as Davao City mayor.
The criticism arose from her recent appearance before the House Committee on Appropriations, where she faced tough questions about the Office of the Vice President’s (OVP) budget.
House Assistant Majority Leader Amparo Maria Zamora emphasized that budget deliberations are about ensuring proper use of public funds, not merely receiving agreeable answers.
The House Committee will resume budget discussions on the OVP’s 2025 budget, with calls for Duterte to provide detailed and transparent responses.
