SAN MIGUEL BEER ROLLS OUT MALIK POPE FOR CRUCIAL PBA CLASH WITH MERALCO

San Miguel Beer (SMB) is looking to keep its title defense alive in the PBA Season 49 Commissioner’s Cup as the team introduces new import Malik Pope for their crucial match against Meralco on Saturday.

At 6-foot-10, Pope is the Beermen’s fourth import this conference after Quincy Miller, Torren Jones, and Jabari Narcis.

Currently holding the eighth spot in the standings with a 4-4 record, SMB faces the Meralco Bolts, who are also battling for a top playoff spot.

Meralco coach Luigi Trillo acknowledges the challenge ahead, with both teams fighting to improve their positions in the tight race for the playoffs.

Pope, who has had stints in Greece, Germany, Estonia, and the Czech Republic, will play a key role in San Miguel’s hopes, while also going head-to-head with Meralco’s Akil Mitchell, who has been impressive for the Bolts.
