San Juan City has officially been declared the first Drug-Cleared City in Metro Manila, effective May 2, 2025, by the Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug Clearing.
The declaration follows a successful evaluation of the city’s application. San Juan achieved 100% drug-cleared status across all its barangays in 2023, a key requirement for the city-wide designation.
Officials from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, the Department of the Interior and Local Government, the Philippine National Police, and the Department of Health attended the event.
In addition to its drug-free status, San Juan boasts the lowest crime rate in Metro Manila.
Mayor Francis Zamora expressed his commitment to sustaining the city’s drug-cleared status through continued enforcement, rehabilitation, and prevention programs, calling on all citizens to cooperate in maintaining this achievement.
