Rupert Zaragosa was crowned champion of the ICTSI Negros Occidental Classic, a tournament affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine, which forced the cancellation of the final round.
After two rounds, Zaragosa finished with a total score of six-under 134, six strokes ahead of veteran players Tony Lascuña and Reymon Jaraula, who tied for second place at 140.
Zaragosa expressed happiness over his victory, noting that while he would have preferred to complete all 72 holes, he understood the decision due to the unplayable conditions of the course.
This win marks his second title on the Philippine Golf Tour, earning him PHP450,000, which he dedicated to his hospitalized grandfather.
Zaragosa is set to compete next in the ICTSI Match Play Championship at The Country Club in Laguna next month.
