Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez declared that the Philippines is entering a “breakthrough era” of sustained and inclusive growth under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s leadership.
The World Bank’s June 2025 Economic Update ranked the Philippines as the second-fastest-growing economy in Southeast Asia, with a 5.6 percent GDP growth in 2024 and strong projections through 2027.
Romualdez emphasized that this growth translates into more jobs, higher incomes for small businesses, and better opportunities for Filipino families and youth.
He credited the government’s Bagong Pilipinas agenda and Congress’s strategic reforms for creating an environment that benefits ordinary Filipinos.
Romualdez highlighted key legislative achievements, including improvements in ease of doing business, infrastructure, rural support, digital transformation, education, healthcare, and social protection, which collectively drive the country’s rising confidence and capability.
