Manila Mayor Francisco Domagoso has approved major renovations for the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, a city-owned facility managed by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).

During a courtesy meeting with PSC officials led by new chairman Patrick Gregorio, Domagoso expressed full support for the rehabilitation project and emphasized the importance of sports programs for Manila’s youth and residents.

The mayor also appointed SEA Games water polo player and coach Dale Evangelista as director of the Manila Sports Council to help revitalize local sports initiatives.

Domagoso encouraged PSC and MASCO to collaborate, allowing Manila athletes to train at the complex ahead of upcoming competitions like Batang Pinoy.

PSC chairman Gregorio thanked the mayor and highlighted Manila’s role as a key athletic hub with numerous facilities and a strong school and university sports circuit.
