The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) welcomed a manifesto from the Association of General and Flag Officers (AGFO), in which retired leaders reaffirmed their opposition to destabilization efforts.
The AFP said the statement highlights the shared commitment of active and retired officers to uphold the Constitution, respect civilian authority, and maintain military professionalism.
AGFO condemned any calls for the AFP to engage in unconstitutional acts or partisan politics.
The manifesto also expressed full confidence in AFP leadership for keeping the military united and nonpartisan.
The AFP described the joint stance as a reaffirmation of its role as a stable pillar of democracy.
