QUEZON CITY TO LAUNCH IN-CITY RESETTLEMENT FOR FIRE-AFFECTED FAMILIES

Mayor Joy Belmonte announced that Quezon City is partnering with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development and the National Housing Authority to construct in-city vertical housing for families displaced by the March 6, 2026, fire in Pinyahan Village.

The project will be part of the national government’s expanded Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) program, with multi-storey residential buildings planned for the area.

Temporary rental subsidies and financial assistance from DHSUD, NHA, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development will support affected families while construction is underway.

Officials aim to begin construction soon, targeting delivery of the first units by the end of 2027.

Belmonte emphasized that the project ensures displaced residents will return to safe, secure, and dignified homes within the city.
