Quezon City Councilor Alfred Vargas has endorsed the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development’s (DHSUD) decision to implement a one-month amortization moratorium for victims of Typhoon Carina.
Vargas praised DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar for his swift and compassionate response, highlighting the importance of home security in disaster recovery.
The DHSUD has directed key shelter agencies, including Pag-IBIG, the National Housing Authority, and the Social Housing Finance Corp., to enforce the moratorium.
Vargas also commended President Ferdinand Marcos for his prompt and hands-on disaster response.
He emphasized that the resilience of Filipino homes is crucial for the overall recovery and dignity of disaster-stricken families.
