QCINEMA CELEBRATES WOMEN’S MONTH WITH SPECIAL FILM SCREENINGS

The QCinema International Film Festival in Quezon City is marking National Women’s Month with a series of screenings highlighting women’s experiences in history, resistance, memory, and identity.

The program opened with “Sisa,” a 2025 Philippine historical thriller directed by Jun Robles Lana, starring Hilda Koronel in her comeback role after 13 years.

Later screenings include the Brazilian documentary “The First Women,” focusing on the country’s pioneering women’s soccer team, and the French coming-of-age drama “The Little Sister,” which won the Queer Palm at the Cannes Film Festival.

Tickets for the series range from free to P200, and the initiative supports Quezon City’s role as a UNESCO Creative City of Film.

The festival aims to spotlight diverse women’s narratives while fostering cultural engagement in cinema.
