PUBLIC ADVISED TO VERIFY ‘NO CLASSES’ ANNOUNCEMENTS AMID FAKE ALERTS

The public is warned to ignore false announcements claiming class suspensions on Monday, June 30, due to the southwest monsoon or Habagat.

Official agencies like the Department of Education and local government units have not issued any class suspension orders.

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office of Guiguinto, Bulacan, and Bacnotan, La Union, confirmed that classes will continue as scheduled.

The fake announcements often link to unrelated websites, such as online shopping platforms.

Meanwhile, PAGASA reports that the Habagat will bring rains to several regions but expects fair weather in the rest of Luzon, and a low-pressure area outside the Philippine area poses no threat.
