As the May 12 midterm elections approach, provincial governors from 14 provinces have pledged strong support for the Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas coalition’s 11-member senatorial lineup.
The endorsement follows a directive from Speaker Martin Romualdez, who emphasized the importance of mobilizing both national and local government efforts for the upcoming polls.
Governors from provinces such as Sultan Kudarat, Benguet, Ifugao, and Kalinga expressed their commitment to delivering votes for the coalition’s candidates, including Benhur Abalos, Abby Binay, and Pia Cayetano, among others.
The governors highlighted their early grassroots mobilization and expressed confidence in the candidates’ ability to address the needs of underserved provinces.
With a combined voting population of over 9 million in these provinces, the Alyansa coalition is also intensifying its campaigns in key areas like Pampanga, where popular candidates like Lito Lapid and Manny Pacquiao are gaining strong local support.
