Pro wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, known for his iconic “Hulkamania” persona and impact on wrestling’s rise in the 1980s, has died at age 71, according to US media reports.
Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea, passed away at his Florida home, reportedly due to cardiac arrest.
A WWE Hall of Famer since 2005, Hogan was a global wrestling superstar and also pursued an acting career with roles in films like Rocky III and the TV show Baywatch.
Despite past controversies involving leaked videos and racist remarks that led to his temporary WWE firing, Hogan was later reinstated to the Hall of Fame.
In recent years, he became known for his political support of former President Donald Trump and faced ongoing health issues from his wrestling career.
