PORTION OF FORBES PARK WALL COLLAPSES

A portion of a wall in Makati’s Forbes Park collapsed amid heavy rains on Saturday, causing traffic along EDSA.

Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon said the wall was made of drywall and tubular framing instead of reinforced concrete and steel.

Dizon ordered an investigation into who built the structure and whether it met building standards.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority cleared debris that occupied two EDSA lanes.

Meanwhile, Marikina Mayor Maan Teodoro urged the DPWH to repair a broken pumping station that caused flooding in parts of the city.
