The Philippine National Police (PNP) has flagged 37 election hotspots for the 2025 midterm elections, with 28 located in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region. Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla noted hotspots in Leyte and Central Luzon but expects a relatively peaceful election. Measures are underway to ensure government aid programs, such as Ayuda sa Kapos ang Kita, won’t be misused for vote-buying. These disbursements remain legal until February 1, 2025, before the official campaign period begins.
