PHILIPPINES GEARS UP FOR PONY GIRLS SOFTBALL TITLE DEFENSE

Team Manila-Philippines is eyeing a three-peat at the PONY International Girls Softball World Series scheduled from July 17 to 20 in McAllen, Texas.

The reigning U18 champions, coached by Sheirylou Valenzuela, are coming off an undefeated run last year, capped by a 6-0 shutout against the home team in the finals.

Valenzuela cited Puerto Rico as one of their toughest challengers, alongside powerhouse squads from Mexico and the U.S. Team Manila Softball president and city councilor, Rafael “Che” Borromeo, echoed the sentiment, noting the stiff competition ahead.

The Philippine squad is determined to defend its title in the four-day global tournament.
