The Philippines secured a silver medal after a close 2-3 loss to Indonesia in the final of the inaugural Asia Pacific Padel Cup held at Amare Padel Club in Bali on Sunday.
Indonesia avenged their earlier defeat to the Filipinos in the group stage, where the Philippines triumphed 4-1.
Both teams showcased strong performances in the semifinals, with the Philippines defeating Malaysia 4-0 and Indonesia overpowering India 4-0.
India claimed the bronze medal by beating Malaysia 3-0, while Singapore edged out Hong Kong 3-2 for fifth place.
Padel Pilipinas president Senator Pia Cayetano expressed pride in the team’s journey and noted plans for upcoming tournaments, including the Play Padel Open in October and the Padel Masters in November.
