The Philippine taekwondo team made a strong start at the 9th Asian Taekwondo Poomsae Championships in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, winning six medals on opening day.
Ian Matthew Cordon and Rodolfo Reyes Jr. led the campaign, each securing silver in their respective divisions.
Four other athletes—Jocel Lyn Ninobla, June Ninobla, Juliana Mykhail Candelaria, and Justin Kobe Macari—added bronze medals in their categories.
The Philippine Taekwondo Association praised the team’s performance, encouraging them to continue inspiring and making the country proud.
The tournament runs alongside the 27th Asian Taekwondo Championships, with a 29-member Philippine delegation led by Olympian Kurt Barbosa and Tachiana Mangin.
