The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) launched the 4th Philippine Film Industry Month (PFIM) with a tribute to National Artist for Film Eddie Romero at the Metropolitan Theater on September 1.

The event, themed “Tuloy ang Tradisyon ng Pelikulang Pilipino,” celebrated Filipino cinema’s legacy with a free screening of Romero’s acclaimed 1980 film *Aguila* and a mini-exhibit of his contributions.

FDCP Chairperson Jose Javier Reyes emphasized the importance of honoring National Artists to guide the future of Filipino filmmaking.

Jeffrey Sonora from FPJ Productions discussed the restoration of *Aguila* in collaboration with the Philippine Film Archive, ensuring its preservation for future audiences.

The ceremony, attended by Romero’s relatives and industry representatives, was hosted by Kakki Teodoro and presented by FDCP in partnership with the NCCA and the Metropolitan Theater.
