The deportation of over 80 Chinese POGO workers has been hailed as a successful joint operation between Beijing and Manila, according to the Chinese Embassy in Manila.
On September 6, nearly 100 Chinese nationals involved in offshore gambling were repatriated as part of enhanced law enforcement cooperation between the two countries.
This move follows the Philippine government’s recent ban on all POGOs.
The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) reported that the deportees, arrested in operations in Bamban and Porac, will be sent to Shanghai and Xi’an.
The continued anti-illegal POGO efforts align with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s commitment to end all POGOs by year’s end.
