PGT QUALIFIERS BEGIN WITH EAGLES AND BIRDIES FROM YABUT AND SONG

Ivan Yabut and Korean golfer Lee Song took early command of the Philippine Golf Tour (PGT) Qualifying School at Splendido Taal Golf Club, both firing impressive five-under 67s in the opening round.

Yabut, a recent professional and Texas A&M University graduate, combined six birdies and an eagle with a double bogey and a bogey to stay in contention.

Lee Song, 27, delivered a flawless, bogey-free round featuring an eagle and three birdies, showcasing steady precision on the course.

The pair established a four-stroke lead over Japan’s Miki Ryoma, who posted a mixed 71 with eight birdies offset by multiple bogeys.

The four-day qualifiers will award 30 spots for this year’s 10-leg PGT season as the rest of the 121-player field completes their rounds.
