Permits to carry firearms in Metro Manila will be suspended for five days starting October 14 as part of security measures for the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR).
The Manila Police District announced that all Permits to Carry Firearms Outside of Residence (PTCFOR) will be inactive from 12:01 AM on October 13 until midnight on October 18.
Only members of the Philippine National Police, Armed Forces, and other law enforcement agencies in uniform will be permitted to carry firearms during this period.
Additionally, Malacañang has suspended classes at all levels and government work in Manila and Pasay cities on October 14 and 15 due to the conference.
These measures aim to ensure safety and security during the international event.
