PCG PARTNERS WITH SPAIN, AIRBUS FOR FLEET MODERNIZATION

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is exploring partnerships with Spain and Airbus Defence and Space to modernize its maritime assets and improve personnel readiness.

The discussions took place during a meeting between Spanish officials, Airbus representatives, and PCG Commandant Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan in Manila.

Potential cooperation includes capability acquisitions, technology partnerships, and the exchange of expertise in maritime operations and infrastructure.

The PCG is also considering a Memorandum of Cooperation with its Spanish counterpart to strengthen knowledge-sharing and long-term maritime cooperation.

The agency said the talks reaffirmed the Philippines and Spain’s shared commitment to maritime safety and resilience.
