President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has expressed his unwavering support for the uniformed members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) amidst rumors of a destabilization plot against his administration within the military and the Philippine National Police.
During a New Year’s call at Malacañang, President Marcos Jr. reaffirmed his commitment to the well-being of the AFP personnel and their families. He highlighted the increased 2024 budget for the Department of National Defense (DND) and emphasized support for the Revised AFP Modernization Program and the Pension and Gratuity Fund.
Additionally, President Marcos Jr. approved a specific budget for rice subsidies and Tertiary Health Care at the AFP Medical Center to provide advanced medical services and overall wellness support.
The AFP and the PNP have consistently dismissed rumors of a destabilization plot against the Marcos administration within their organizations.
