PBA INTRODUCES FIBA OFFICIATING, POSSESSION ARROW RULE

The Philippine Basketball Association will adopt selected FIBA officiating rules, including the use of the possession arrow, for the upcoming Governors’ Cup.

Commissioner Willie Marcial said the changes have already been presented to team representatives.

The rule adjustments are intended to help Gilas Pilipinas players adapt more easily to international officiating.

PBA officials said only the officiating system and possession rule will change, while the tournament format will remain the same.

The league believes the move will better prepare players for international competitions under FIBA rules.
