Pasig City and Taytay signed a Memorandum of Agreement to streamline tricycle operations and ease cross-boundary travel for commuters.
Under the agreement, legitimate public utility tricycles may transport passengers between designated drop-off points in the two localities.
The pact also removes the need for special permits and protects drivers from apprehension for crossing the boundary, provided they follow the agreed routes and rules.
The agreement only allows drop-offs across the boundary, as drivers are prohibited from picking up new passengers in the other locality.
The pact, which will take effect on a date to be announced by Pasig City, aims to provide more convenient travel for commuters while giving tricycle operators clearer regulations.
