Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual resigned on Wednesday, effective August 2, to return to the private sector.
The Presidential Communications Office confirmed that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. accepted Pascual’s resignation after their meeting at Malacañang.
Marcos praised Pascual’s focus on micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), noting the positive impact of his policies.
The search for Pascual’s successor will begin immediately to ensure a smooth transition at the Department of Trade and Industry.
Pascual expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and described his tenure as both challenging and fulfilling.
