PARIS PARALYMPIANS TO BE HONORED WITH HEROES’ WELCOME BY PRESIDENT MARCOS

The six athletes who represented the Philippines at the Paris Paralympics will be honored with a heroes’ welcome by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. upon their return.

Archer Agustina Bantiloc, taekwondo jin Allain Ganapin, wheelchair racer Jerrold Mangliwan, javelin thrower Cendy Asusano, and swimmers Angel Otom and Ernie Gawilan are set to arrive on Tuesday and will visit Malacañang Palace on Thursday for a courtesy call.

Despite not securing medals, their efforts are praised, with President Marcos and the Philippine Paralympic Committee expressing pride and support.

The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) is committed to enhancing para sports through better funding and development programs.

Future plans include increasing incentives for para athletes and fostering a robust pipeline of young talent.
