The Philippine Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) has launched help desks in key areas with large Korean communities to protect Korean nationals following an appeal from the Korean Embassy.
This initiative responds to recent crimes such as kidnappings, armed robberies, and fatal attacks targeting Koreans in the Philippines.
Eight help desks will be set up in Manila, Angeles, Olongapo, Tarlac, and Cebu, located within local police stations to ensure swift support and response.
President Marcos has also directed the Philippine National Police to create a special task force dedicated to Korean community protection.
This move highlights the Philippines’ commitment to safeguarding Koreans and marks the first time a dedicated police response unit has been established for the nationals of a single country.
