The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Mimaropa showcased the craftsmanship of persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) during the Baragatan Festival 2025 in Palawan.
The festival, held from June 17 to 23, celebrates Palawan’s culture and heritage while providing a platform for the transformation and empowerment of PDLs.
Handcrafted products, such as woven rattan accessories, displayed by the PDLs demonstrate their resilience and commitment to change.
The event included cultural presentations, trade shows, and an agro-trade fair that promotes local goods and craftsmanship.
By purchasing these products, visitors support the rehabilitation and reintegration of PDLs, contributing to their journey toward becoming productive members of society.
