Water levels in six Luzon dams have dropped due to the ongoing hot temperatures, according to the latest report from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
As of 8 a.m. yesterday, Angat Dam’s water level was at 201.47 meters, down by 0.18 meters from its previous level, and 8.53 meters below its normal level.
Ipo Dam in Bulacan also saw a slight drop of 0.02 meters, now at 100.48 meters, which is 0.63 meters below its normal level.
Other affected dams include San Roque in Pangasinan, Pantabangan in Nueva Ecija, Magat in Isabela, and Caliraya in Laguna, all of which reported varying decreases in water levels.
These dams are vital sources of water for Metro Manila, agriculture, and other areas across Luzon.
