Hiraya Francine Padios captured Team Philippines’ lone gold medal at the 10th Asian Pencak Silat Championships in Vietnam after winning the Female Tunggal event with a score of 9.950.
Her victory highlighted the country’s 11-medal haul, which also included five silver and five bronze medals.
The Philippine delegation earned podium finishes across several individual and team events, placing fourth overall in the tournament.
Host Vietnam topped the medal standings, followed by Indonesia and Malaysia.
The Philsilat Sports Association congratulated the national team for its strong performance and for bringing honor to the Philippines.
