The national government has spent P18.6 billion from the calamity fund from January to November to support disaster relief and rehabilitation, leaving nearly P2.4 billion available for December, data from the Department of Budget and Management showed.

More than half of the funds went to the Department of Social Welfare and Development, followed by the Department of Public Works and Highways and the Department of Agriculture.

In November alone, the DBM released around P1.86 billion, including replenishments for the quick response funds of the DA, DSWD, and Department of the Interior and Local Government.

The quick response fund enables rapid delivery of relief and repair of damaged infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, and public buildings.

The total calamity fund allocation for 2025 under the General Appropriations Act is P21 billion.
