OCTA SURVEY SHOWS RISING PRICES, LOW WAGES, AND CORRUPTION AS TOP FILIPINO CONCERNS

An OCTA Research survey found that controlling rising prices of basic goods and services, improving wages, and fighting corruption are the top issues Filipinos want the government to address in the second quarter of 2026. The nationwide survey conducted from July 4 to 11 showed that 37 percent of respondents identified inflation as their biggest concern, followed by increasing wages at 34 percent and government corruption at 32 percent. Concerns over affordable food and free quality education also ranked among the major national issues, with 24 percent and 22 percent of respondents choosing them, respectively. Inflation was the leading concern across several regions and socioeconomic groups, particularly in the Visayas, Balance Luzon, and among Class ABC respondents. On personal matters, staying healthy, having enough food, building savings, securing stable income, and providing education for children were among the top concerns of adult Filipinos.
