DOLE PROVIDES JOBS AND LIVELIHOOD SUPPORT TO OVER 760,000 WORKERS IN FIRST HALF OF 2026

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) reported that more than 767,000 disadvantaged and informal workers received employment and livelihood assistance worth PHP6.25 billion during the first half of 2026. Through the TUPAD program, 734,364 workers gained temporary employment with PHP5.55 billion in funding, while 33,072 beneficiaries received livelihood grants under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program. Additional initiatives supported transport workers, school preparation efforts under Brigada Eskwela, environmental cleanup programs, and skills training in partnership with TESDA. The agency also continued efforts to protect vulnerable groups by monitoring child labor cases, providing benefits to sugar workers, and promoting workplace welfare programs. DOLE said these programs aim to provide immediate income support while helping workers transition toward more sustainable sources of livelihood.
