The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported that no DNA profiles could be extracted from bone fragments recovered in Taal Lake, likely due to prolonged submersion and contamination.
Authorities began searching the lake on July 10 after a whistleblower claimed missing cockfight enthusiasts were executed and thrown into the water.
So far, 91 bone fragments have been found, including a skull, but these remains have yet to be fully examined at the PNP Crime Lab.
Meanwhile, three DNA profiles were successfully extracted from remains found in a cemetery in Laurel, Batangas, but none matched samples from the families of the missing individuals.
The investigation continues as authorities work to identify the remains linked to the missing cockfighters.
