The Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board (PCAB) revoked the licenses of nine construction firms owned or controlled by Sarah and Curlee Discaya after her admission that the companies bid against each other for the same government projects.
The Bureau of Customs found that eight luxury cars at the Discaya compound had incomplete documents and is also investigating other contractors owning private jets and helicopters.
The PCAB condemned the Discayas’ actions as manipulative and damaging to government procurement transparency and has referred the case to the National Bureau of Investigation and Department of Justice.
The Bureau of Internal Revenue is coordinating with agencies to verify if the Discayas’ declared income matches the value of their luxury vehicles.
Meanwhile, calls for a lifestyle check on PCAB executive director Herbert Matienzo have emerged amid allegations of corruption and mismanagement within the agency.
