The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) has launched a benefit package for optometric services targeting children up to 15 years old.
Under Circular No. 2025-0002, PhilHealth-accredited Konsulta Package Providers and other health facilities will refer children who fail vision screenings to accredited optometric clinics for further assessment and possible eyeglass prescriptions.
Referrals will be processed through a referral form while an electronic system is being developed.
Optometric clinics must file claims electronically via PhilHealth’s eClaims system once services are rendered.
Beneficiaries are required to submit scanned copies of referral forms, claim signature forms, and patient charts, with no need for hard copies.
