The Department of Education (DepEd), the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and TESDA have institutionalized the use of gender-responsive assessment tools for evaluating instructional materials.
A joint memorandum was signed to provide guidelines ensuring learning resources are free from gender bias and stereotypes.
The framework aims to guide curriculum developers and educators in creating inclusive and gender-sensitive educational content.
The memorandum also highlights persistent gender biases in curricula, teaching methods, and school policies affecting student outcomes.
Meanwhile, the Alliance of Concerned Teachers urged President Marcos to address teachers’ long-standing calls for a meaningful salary increase.
