Senator Christopher “Bong” Go urged Davao City’s newly elected officials to honor the trust placed in them by the public, emphasizing that holding public office is a sacred responsibility.
He spoke during the oath-taking ceremony on June 27, where Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte was sworn in as vice mayor, supported by his family, including Vice President Sara Duterte.
The event also included the city’s new councilors and congressional representatives, as well as fellow politicians like Senator Ronald dela Rosa.
Go reflected on his political journey, attributing his success to former President Rodrigo Duterte’s guidance and mentorship.
He reminded officials to always prioritize doing what is right and serving the interests of the Filipino people, especially the poor.
